SME, which has been promoted by Prof.V.Nagarajan,
former Professor of Madras University, India. His
main objective for the company was to develop, design
and deploy e-learning, e-governance and e-commerce
products and services. Initially, the company had
developed a window based (LMS) Learning Management
System (www.4cnet.org)
for the sole purpose of offering online courses.
During the course of time, the company concentrated
in Open Source Software resources for the design
and development of LMS, Content Management System
(CMS) and Document Management System (DMS).
The
company was fortunate to be in partnership with
a leading sophisticated open source e-learning platform
called “Moodle” (http://moodle.org)
for promoting e-learning in India and other neighboring
countries. Radius Consultancy went all out to help
Indian corporate and educational institutions experiment
with this powerful content learning management portal.
In this connection, many enterprises were keen to
deploy moodle and were actively exploring the feasibility
of its deployment.
Through
a well planned business strategy, Radius Consultancy
was able to establish partnerships with content
management companies and application service providing
companies in order to offer complete e-learning
solution to their clients. In fact, Radius partnered

from India for web hosting. Similarly, for the purpose
of content management, Radius went all out forging
partnerships with emathpool (www.emathpool.net)
from Switzerland for mathematics, Global Literacy
(www.globalliteracy.org)
from USA for work skills and life skills related
content, and with Reed Education USA (http://thebizlearning.com/ITAcademy)
for IT/management related content.
In
2002 Radius Consultancy had a clear determination
to conceptualize and incubate a comprehensive and
complete open source solution at an affordable and
cost-effective product/service mix mainly for developing
countries including the less affluent population
of developed countries. After two years of intense
planning, Radius Consultancy introduced and showcased
the open source solutions for e-learning, e-governance
and e-commerce solutions at the recently concluded
India Soft 2005 International Exhibition. The company
enjoyed an overwhelming response from buyers hailing
from Latin American Countries, African and CIS countries.
Already partnership agreements have been signed
with Kenya, Nigeria while other agreements are in
the pipeline.
As
a member of ESC, Radius Consultancy will be participating
in the forthcoming International Exhibition to be
held in Singapore with the purpose of spreading
the network to ASEAN as well as to mainland China.
Meanwhile, the company has chalked out a comprehensive
market promotion strategy to monetize the business
opportunity which will be available during the next
International Exhibition. The main promoter of Radius
Consultancy, Prof.V.Nagarajan had a long teaching
and research career spanning over a period of 30
years at the Madras University. His area of specialization
includes Psychology, Adult Education (Andragogy)
